B822 June 2009 students

Over an enjoyable weekend in hot summer, a diverse group of students are cajoled to move out their comfort zones.

Creative Problem Solving Techniques for TMA02

  • Identify a real problem (probably work-related), one that seems to call for a creative solution.
  • Use some creative problem-solving techniques (from the Techniques Library) to have a go at tackling this problem.
  • Reflect on what happened (and how, where, when, who with, why), and what resulted.
Involve other people in this exercise (at any or all stages)
  • Write about it, including the following three components:
    1. Explain (in B822 and practical terms) why you chose that particular problem and those particular techniques. (rather than others).
    2. Describe what took place during your practical work, focussing on process issues (not just the output) and using B822 concepts.
    3. Reflect on the whole experience (draw on Block 2 sources), commenting on what took place (how, why, etc.)and how you might do it differently next time.
